Photographing Yolandi and Wilhelm kind of made me feel like I’ve come full circle. Yolandi and I have a special (and at times painful) history and their wedding was one of the first I booked since I decided to do photography full time last year. Inside jokes and memories aside I am beyond excited for this beautiful couple’s wedding and so happy to share a favourite few of their pretty engagement session in Swellendam.
Such a special engagement shoot in the heart of the Overberg in Spring – the most spectacular time of the year in our beautiful region (yes, I’m a sucker for bright yellow canola fields and orchids in bloom). The best part of this shoot however is the lovely couple! Within ten minutes of meeting it felt like I’ve known them much, much longer than those few minutes. And it’s also immediately obvious that there is nothing coincidental about these two wonderful people being together, they just fit together so naturally. Without a doubt your paths were meant to cross and it’s apparent that you are part of the Good Lord’s wonderful plan for one another. I can’t wait to capture your big day next year, something tells me it’s going to be one for the books!
It was SO refreshing to encounter a groom-to-be who smiles this much (especially for engagement photos)! Albrecht, obviously very chuffed with his bride-to-be, just couldn’t stop smirking – such a treat! We shot their engagement photos at Stormsvlei Riverside Cottages – such a gem in the heart of the Overberg and very fitting for this couple getting married in Swellendam in September (CAN’T WAIT!).
Carika en Albrecht, julle was groot sports en straal behoorlik!
